MAX 1000 · Published specification and configuration review
Cheers MAX 1000 planetary floor grinder
The MAX 1000 table lists 380 V, a 22 kW motor/converter, 1000 mm working width and 12 discs. Remote control, double-drive and power-off travel are described, but battery-powered grinding is not established.
Read the grinder and charging box separately
| Item | Published value | Buying implication |
|---|---|---|
| Supply voltage | 380 V | Frequency, phase, rated input current and connection requirements still need confirmation |
| Motor / converter | 22 kW / 22 kW | Not a complete generator or circuit-sizing specification |
| Working width | 1000 mm | Not the overall machine width or a promise of area per hour |
| Discs / rotation | 12 / 0–1800 rpm | Ask which rotating element the speed denotes and the permitted settings for each tool |
| Drive and mode | Double-drive; remote control, driven travel, power-off travel | Remote operation and unpowered travel do not establish battery-powered grinding |
| Water tank | 40 L | Obtain the applicable wet-process delivery instructions |
| Machine mass | 825 kg | Confirm mass condition, lifting points and transport instructions |
| Charging-box mass | 57 kg, separately listed | Confirm inclusion, battery/charger scope and packing |
These are manufacturer-listed values, not CivilEquip measurements. [1] The page gives no specification revision or clear mass condition. Although 825 + 57 = 882 kg for the two listed items, 882 kg is not an established shipping or operating weight: fluids, tooling, accessories and packaging remain unresolved.
The widest MAX is also the heaviest listed machine
| Model | Working width | Motor / converter | Machine mass | Separate charging box |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MAX 1000 | 1000 mm | 22 / 22 kW | 825 kg | 57 kg |
| MAX 950 | 950 mm | 22 / 22 kW | 800 kg | 57 kg |
| MAX 850 | 850 mm | 18.5 / 18.5 kW | 700 kg | Not listed |
| MAX 828 | 820 mm | 15 / 18.5 kW | 650 kg | Not listed |
All four rows list 380 V, 12 discs, 0–1800 rpm and a 40 L tank. The MAX 828 motor and converter ratings differ in the source; “828” does not mean 828 mm working width. A blank charging-box entry means the reviewed row does not list one, not that an alternative supply configuration is impossible. [1]
The 1000 is 50 mm wider and 25 kg heavier than the 950 as listed. That arithmetic helps compare catalogue configurations; it cannot predict an extra percentage of productivity. Edge work, obstacle clearance, coating removal, passes and tool wear may determine the actual project result.
Resolve power and transport before ordering
Electrical configuration
Send the actual mains voltage/frequency/phase and available supply. Request the machine’s nameplate and electrical requirements, converter/control configuration, protective arrangements and startup/run input. Do not size a generator from 22 kW alone or borrow the vacuum’s 220 V specification.
Physical access
Request overall/transport dimensions, removable parts, centre of gravity, approved lifting/tie-down points and loading instructions. Check the route through doors, ramps and lifts against the complete transported package; 1000 mm working width is not a doorway-clearance dimension.
The source labels remote control, driven travel and power-off travel, and lists a separate charging box. It does not document battery voltage/capacity, travel duration or grinding without mains power. Ask for the actual travel/charging arrangement, charger supply, battery handling and transport documents. [1]
The abrasive process and dust package need their own approval
Describe concrete or other substrate, coating type/thickness, hardness information if available and the target finish. Ask for tool mounting dimensions, abrasive/bond choices, a pass sequence and speed settings approved by Cheers. Twelve listed discs are not twelve included abrasive sets, and planetary naming does not disclose individual head diameters or speed ratios.
The separate vacuum page lists several collectors with different capacities and masses. [2] Ask which configuration Cheers recommends for MAX 1000, including the shroud, port/hose size and airflow at the working connection. Published maximum vacuum/airflow and a filter efficiency statement do not establish the performance of the installed combination.
OSHA’s US floor-grinder guidance describes integrated water delivery or a manufacturer-recommended vacuum collection system. It also addresses dust cleanup and additional ventilation where needed indoors. [3] Use this to frame the equipment request; it does not show this grinder is compliant. The 40 L tank alone is not evidence of effective wet dust control.
How can the first demonstration answer a real buying question?
Agree a representative floor/coating, abrasive set, sequence, settings and finish measurement. Record the tested area, elapsed work, edge/cleanup work and tool consumption separately. Keep the demonstration machine/configuration traceable. The reviewed catalogue provides no removal rate, finish result, noise/vibration test or area-per-hour guarantee.
